Death 1. when they thought I can die in Africa, but I survived + Xavier Rudd
In 2008, when I was an intern in South Africa, we lived on the estate of the winery. It was a huge farm, where our house, which was a Victorian-style historical building, was around a 20-25 minute walk from the winery.

You believe it or not, but at that time, the internet was not as widespread. If I wanted to write emails to my friends or family, I had to wait when my work was done, and stay in the office of the winery.
As that was the place where I was able to use the internet, that meant that sometimes I was walking home in the dark or close to dark, when the sun was down. I really enjoyed my walks, as the nature was beautiful! The sunset was beautiful!
At that time, my favourite music to listen to was Xavier Rudd, who is an Australian musician.

Why did they think I could die? Who thought I could die? Did I die? :D
On the farm, there are a lot of buildings, the winemaker, the guests, the coworkers, and we, as interns, also lived there. We were all part of nature. We were three interns: a girl from South Africa, a boy from Italy, and I from Hungary.
So one day, when we were doing our laundry in the estate's big official laundry house, I had a chat with the local African coworkers. They taught me the first few expressions in Afrikaans, which sounded for me familiar, as it had some German style. But later I learned it was Dutch influence.
So after a lot of talking, they asked me if I am not afraid in the night walking home alone.
I said NO.
They told me I could be dead as well, easily.
I asked WHY?
They told me: Someone can kill me.
I was surprised, and asked WHO?
They said, the SNAKES.
So I did not meet any poisonous snakes in South Africa.
But I walked with a lot of Cape spurfowl, which is a gamebird in the pheasant family.
